Can you survive winter using a summer survival kit? More specifically, in an urban environment with jungle gear?
Hopefully, this isn’t a scenario that comes up very often. In this article, we’ll go over how to make the most with what you have, in the event that your survival gear is intended for a completely different environment than the one you find yourself in.
Here at ReadyMan, we like to say that the best gear to have is the gear that you actually have. Unfortunately, it may not always be the ideal gear for each situation. Preparedness and planning go a long way, but disaster rarely strikes at an opportune time.
With that in mind, it is important to be able to adapt and overcome any situation at hand, regardless of what you may or may not have at your disposal. The ability to improvise is one of the most important, yet underrated survival skills.
While keeping with the notion of improvising, we decided to take our BattlBox Jungle Surival Gear, and find a way to use it in an urban setting. In Utah. And in the dead of winter. Consequently, this was obviously going to be a challeng. But with a little creativity and know-how, we were able to use everything in the box to our advantage.
What’s in the Box?
